After growing up in Amherst, Virginia, Dr. William Jones attended Hampden-Sydney College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. He then graduated from the University of Virginia School of Medicine with his M.D. degree before moving to Minnesota to complete his residencies in General Surgery and Urology at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine.

He then returned to Virginia to join Blue Ridge Urological in 2001. Today he is married with two children and enjoys coaching high school football and little league baseball in his spare time.

Dr. Jones’ professional interests include urological oncology and treatments for kidney stones. He has worked with several other doctors on several different research projects dealing with these areas, as well as teaching a variety of lectures at different schools over the years.
