Blue Ridge Urological (BRU) is an independent urology private practice comprised of 6 urologists and 3 experienced APPs with three offices across central Virginia (Staunton-Waynesboro, Lexington, and Harrisonburg) looking to expand our group.

We are seeking an additional general urologist to join our physician-owned practice in Staunton/Charlottesville, VA. Both experienced urologists and current residents and new graduates are welcome to apply.

BRU was founded in 1953 by Dr. Sam Graham Sr., a nationally renowned urologist who went on to become a founding member of the American Academy of Clinical Urologists (AACU) and was a former president of the American Urological Association (AUA). BRU is one of the only remaining independent urology practices and has an excellent and long-standing reputation in Virginia. Consequently, there is a huge referral base–you will be busy from day one.

Key highlights include:

• 12 months to partnership with affordable buy-in for ancillary revenue streams (medical office, lithotripsy)
• Excellent starting salary in year one with hybrid (40% shared, 60% productivity plus call pay) compensation model once partner
• Hospital Income Guarantee for one year
• Call is shared equally. Cover two smaller hospitals. No trauma.
• Urology-specific office EMR (UroChart) designed by urologists for clinical efficiency
• Robotics available (Xi) at both hospitals, with urologists actively using weekly
• Flexible vacation schedule 6 weeks PTO in year one, and then up to 10 weeks in time off once a partner

Our team is collegial, hardworking and compassionate. We work with an excellent practice management firm so that our focus remains on our patients. We prioritize physician autonomy and want to provide a boutique experience for patients. We always have same-day appointments available to avoid ER visits. We believe that we should treat our patients just as we would our own family members. Remaining an independent private practice is important to us, and there is no interest in private equity or hospital acquisition.

OUR FACILITIES:

• Three urology offices with experienced & tenured 1:1 nursing staff to run an efficient clinic
• Cover two community hospitals on call with excellent hospitalist service (will admit urology patients)
• Minimal trauma–that all goes to the University of Virginia Medical Center
• Augusta Health is a small 209-bed non-profit community hospital with a dedicated cysto OR suite, experienced urology personnel, daVinci Xi robot (since 2017), 10-bed ICU, and IR coverage. There is a brand new outpatient pavilion (opened Jan 2023) ideal for high-throughput urology cases. EHR is Meditech.
• Sentara RMH is a 238-bed community hospital with capable IR, ICU, and OR teams and a relatively new daVinci Xi robot (2021) with our urologists using it weekly. Excellent hospitalist service that admits most urology patients. EHR is Epic.

AREA:

All three of our offices are located in beautiful college towns nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive, Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Trail (AT). Our main office is just a few miles from the AT trailhead! All of our partners live in either Staunton, Harrisonburg, or Charlottesville–these areas have exceptional cultural amenities including farm-to-table restaurants, nationally recognized breweries and wineries on the Monticello Trail, excellent public and private schools, farmers markets and concerts.

There are airports in Charlottesville (CHO, 30min drive) and Richmond (RIC, 75min drive) for national travel and Washington DC-Dulles (IAD, less than 2hr drive) is perfect for international travel.
